[Sca-cooks] Friday's holiday

Well, I'd wear my Pi shawl tomorrow, if it were off the needles!
(For the non-knitters out there, pi shawls are an "unvention" of a woman named Elizabeth Zimmerman, and the premise is, that one starts knitting in the center, working out to the edge, and there are certain rows that are "increase rows," with the ratio of stitches/rows based on pi. It's actually rather brilliant!)
My family's traditional spring pie is Ohio Lemon pie--similar to lemon pies made by Shakers, IIRC. Thin slices of whole lemon in a sugar/egg based custardy stuff. Mmmm....I've never been able to get the slices quite thin enough with a regular knife, but I bet something like a mandoline would work beautifully....

  Subject: [Sca-cooks] Friday's holiday

My son informed me last night that he needed a pie
for school on Friday because it's pi day and they are taking
math class off to celebrate and eat pie. So it doesn't sneak up on list
  members--

So I am off to figure out now what sort of pie I am baking.
