[Sca-cooks] Help - Mastic Gum

If it's what I think it is, I have that in my local Greek Grocers...

It's mastic flavoured Fondant (as in sugar stuff you place on the outside of
cake)... However, I think the Greeks put it INSIDE pastry but I'm probably
wrong on the last point...

I have an additional question.  I needed mastic for a dish I prepared last
year for my ME feast.  I found what was labeled as mastic at a ME
store...but not like anything I had ever seen as mastic previously.  It's a
fairly large jar of a white, thick syrupy type of stuff. What is this stuff?
