Hmmmm, there are tons of places out there but I'd suggest going to the
Butcher Shop if it is still there or take a taxi over to Old Town (not
really too far away) and there is a great pub there called the Long Yard.
Mexican food all over the place there.

On June 18 and 19, I'll be in San Diego at the convention center for BIO
2008. The only hotel room I could grab for those days and not pay $350-$500
a night was out in Mission Valley; but I'll be in downtown San Diego during
the day and some part of the evening.
 
So, can anyone out there suggest a place where I should have dinner on
Tuesday after the convention shuts down at 5 p.m.?
