I agree. But as someone who has actually sold medieval dishes in  
restaurants such as this one, I can suggest that, at least in theory,  
there's probably less hit-or-miss and more consistent food quality  
than we're used to seeing in the SCA (which is not an indictment on  
SCA cooking, just, well, sometimes you get what you pay for in the  
SCA, and sometimes you get more). If it's terrible, there's less  
reason to be... umm... tactful about it. Then there's "fine dining"  
service, which I, at last, rarely see in the SCA, plus a site that  
isn't, say, a volunteer firehouse, and then there's the entire pacing  
of the meal. Many non-SCAdians wouldn't sit still for two or three  
hours over dinner (as much as chefs like David Bouley would have them  
do so).

I'm thinking about this one, actually, since it's semi-local.
