Thanks for the suggestions, everyone....Johnna, I don't remember the name of
the deli where I had the salad, although I do recall that it was on the
promenade, and I'd probably be able to find it again without much
difficulty. I suspect my mystery cheese was the burrata, from Eibhlin's
description. Dang, but it was *so* good! I'm bloody near ready to move
there, just for that salad!
Somebody mentioned getting scallops at an Asian market--that's a good idea,
and one that I'd definitely pursue, but we don't have the population, let
alone the ethnic groups, that would pull in that sort of resources. I do
live in the second largest city in the state, but it's still Montana....some
things we gots, some things we doesn't gots. There are, for instance, a
total of *two* stores in the entire bloody town that carry greek yogurt (my
newest addiction). And I've only been able to find organic meat at one
store, which is annoying. At least more stores are carrying organic produce
and some dairy stuff these days....
I am now *fiercely* craving shortbread, thankyouallverymuch! And it is SO
NOT on my diet!
I suspect that His Grace Cariadoc was referring to the wine and not the
spices, as well, but my friend was really fussing over it, and I said I'd
ask....:o)
Thanks, everyone....
Master A....have you gotten that brisket out of the freezer yet? Did you
manage to resist?
--Maire, rambling on....
