Welcome to the SCA!

As others may have already said largess tends to be a gift given to
someone. Sometimes these are items given to the Royalty whom then
give them out to whomever they think it is appropriate to give them
to. In the SCA this is modeled on a similar ideal in the Middle Ages.

For some suggestions that people have given for largess ideas, see
this file in the SCA-INC section of the Florilegium:
largess-ideas-msg (51K) 11/30/00 Ideas for largess and gifts.
Royalty gifts.

If you're not familiar with the Florilegium, it is a website that has
over 2100 different files on a wide variety of SCA and medieval
subjects. You can find the address in my signature line.

There is also this article in the PERIOD-THOUGHT section:

Largesse-art (8K) 11/17/02 "A Brief Note on Largesse"

                                        by Baron Hrolf Herjolfssen OP.

Since you are new to the SCA, you might also find the files in the
NEWCOMERS section to be of interest.
