I will exhibit my complete lack of peerlike qualities and mention 
that the judges were not people who would have recognized a period 
apple if they'd bitten into one.

They certainly didn't criticize my Rock Cornish Game Hens as not 
being period, and they are not period.

Thanks, i'll be looking it over. I don't expect to find many in the 
supermarket, however, since there are apples i remember from 40 years 
ago i can hardly find these days.
