I thought since there was a recent discussion on Mint, this may be applicable. It comes from someone I know who does not panic at news like this.
Farming is a chancy business, anyway...and folks do not live by soy or corn alone. Farmers produce what we eat and get smacked down for doing it. (my cousin is a farmer)
My own thoughts are that no bank should be allowed to work with Farmers until they, themselves, have spent time behind the plow, working a chicken house or cutting up potatos for planting...just to name a very few of the chores needing to be done....
anyway-have a mint julep...or a bit of Mint Jelly....

PLEASE: pass this along to anyone who may find it important. Thank you.

" I picked this up from another list but thought it might be of interest to
folks here, in part because they are selling mint quick to raise funds to hold
the farm, (I bought some) and in part because it references some proposed
legislation in Michigan to forestall foreclosures there. Seems like a pretty
sporty notion... which, unless the weather stays the same and the economy
changes could be important here.
. If you watch the youtube video, she talks about how the bank has treated her,
claiming it would be "a victory" for them to foreclose on her - that because she
is not growing SOY or CORN the bank doesn't have any sense of value of her farm.

There, but for the Grace of God, go any of us farmers! Please help them and buy
some mint!
