Yea! I hate accidentally offending people.

That's kind of correct. There is no number placed on the datein Corpora, 
but the "Middle Ages"  gives a guideline-- which varies of course 
depending on which scholar you're reading at the time. For example, 
Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome are not a part of the Middle Ages, but 
parts of the Roman Empire were still limping along while Byzantium was
