1. The "Vikings" did not become extinct in the 11th cent.
2. The label "Viking" is more a profession title then a people.
3. It was the Rus that settled in Kiev and Moscow and probably Novgorod. You
have the Svea, Norwegians (or Norse)Danes..etc.
4. Ever since the 1800s anything of Ancient Nordic became labeled "Viking",
perhaps for sensationalism and it has stuck ever since.

You mean a ficticious Viking settlement?? The Vikings are extinct since the
11th Century, when they settled down in Normandie, Kiew, Moscoo, Novgorod
and the Nordic countries started they way to Modernity.
