[Sca-cooks] Root Vegetable Storage

I've heard of it but I don't know anything about it.
I'd be interested in if you have to store it in a cool place anyway or if
you can store them anywhere.
(our garage gets really warm on hot days but we do have a crawl space).  Are
the vegetables still subjected to bugs?
