It wasn't in al-Warraq. It's Humus Kasa from _The description of
Familiar Foods_. p. 383 of _Medieval Arab Cookery_ .

The indices of the al-Warraq translation are indeed a pain.

>Duke Cariadoc, i believe you mentioned making a recipe from ibn
>Sayyar al-Warraq that involved chickpeas (hummus) and sesame
>(simsim)... tahini? oil? a month or three ago, which called for
>making patties of the ingredients, then further processing the
>ingredients, although i may be misremembering the details.
>
>Because the indices in Nasrallah's book are not set up well for
>cooks, i spent a great deal of time reading from chapter to chapter
>(which was, of course, a great pleasure), but i did not find a
>recipe using both chickpeas and tahini.
>
>Please remind me where you found this recipe - page number or at
>least chapter would be helpful.
>
>Thanks,
>--
>Urtatim (that's err-tah-TEEM)
>the persona formerly known as Anahita
