Different brand, and the ones I have are square, but I've bought them  
quite a few times, and I'm convinced this is essentially the same  
product.

It really seems to be the wrappers themselves. Obviously buying  
another brand might help, but I'm really curious as to what process,  
apart from that particular manufacturer rubbing its hands together in  
childish exuberance and saying, "Okay, we've had some complaints,  
there wasn't enough baby sputum in the last batch, so let's make sure  
there's enough to really stink this time," is being implemented.
