As King Canute could not order the tide back, dishes are a tyrant that will 
not obey the word of the Crown and clean themselves.  The obligations of my 
duty to the Barony and thus to the Crown directs me to the scullery.  Should 
the Crown require my presence, then I am obligated to present myself and I 
will return to my previous duties when my presence is no longer required. 
To keep dishwater from dripping on everything and everyone is just courteous 
behavior.
