Yes, and in old French-language cooking books, it's often
mistranslated as "épices mélangées" or "tout-épice". Clearly a case of
a translator that didn't know the real term,  "piment de la Jamaïque"
(also seen is "poivre de la Jamaïque", but I belive this is also a
mistranslation).
