I was in a large local Indian market on Sunday, replenishing my
saffron supply, and no bleep, there I was, sniffing like a bloodhound,
trying and succeeding in finding the jars of hing powder three aisles
over.
I was mean, and didn't even buy any; I just wanted to see if I really
could find it with my eyes closed.
That said, it's really not especially vile. Smells a bit like musky
garlic, and is quite good in curries and seafood dishes.
Adamantius
"Most men worry about their own bellies, and other people's souls,
when we all ought to worry about our own souls, and other people's
bellies."
-- Rabbi Israel Salanter
