Johnnae replied to me with:
<<< There was a run on nutmeg in the late 16th and 17th centuries.
The book to read is
Nathaniel's Nutmeg: Or the True and Incredible Adventures of the Spice
Trader Who Changed the Course of History. >>>
I can't remember if I've bought that volume or not. I'll have to look.
<<< I reviewed it and I think the review is in the Florilegium.
I know it's been mentioned on the list before. >>>
My apologies, but it isn't in there yet. It is on my "Things to Do"
list. It is fairly short and I haven't decided whether to add it as
its own stand-alone file or to add it to the nutmeg file.
For those who might be interested, in the PLANTS, HERBS ABD SPICES
section:
nutmeg-mace-msg (12K) 12/ 3/06 Info on the spices nutmeg and mace.
