thanks everyone!  i am no longer feeling so grumpy about 
being confused about the recipes in general.  usually i 
can figure things out pretty well.

and "Cooking Apicius" is now on it's way from amazon, 
since i really don't know if i like roman 60 bucks 
worth... yet.
