Very much so. It is gratifying to know that I am not the only one that looks at what's in the background of paintings.

apricots.  When not preserved with sulphates they tend to turn a creepy
grayish color like that.>

I think you are right. I have an apricot tree and that is exactly what the fruit looks like that I have dried.
Definitely creepy but they don't taste too bad.
