[Sca-cooks] Beans recipes from Platina

Last weekend our Barony had its yearly demo at a local "art park". It's a 
lovely site, totally primitive, and people have been doing a good job of 
keeping the modern stuff out of the demo.

The first four pictures are of the cooking setup and her spice 
identification board--my job was to stand behind the table and talk to 
people about medieval cookery and spices while Giovanna did things with 
food and fire. Oh, and I chopped onions and apples and herbs.

Anyway, we did two bean recipes from Platina--the bean cake and the beans 
with onions and figs. We didn't have a mortar and pestle so I think the 
bean cake came out a lot chunkier than it should have--has anyone ever 
done that recipe that could comment?
