Sorry to intrude with a non-food question, but:

 

My husband will be going to a week-long Rare Book School course at the Grolier Club in November, and we have to pay for the hotel ourselves and then be reimbursed by his employer.  Being from Oklahoma, where we're spoiled by a low cost of living, we suffered some sticker shock at the rates of the hotels recommended.  Does anyone have suggestions for those visiting the city on a tight budget?
