[Sca-cooks] OT: a short vacation before winter

Places I've adored:

Eastern Oregon -- all that fragrant sagebrush!
Central or Southern California -- especially the coastal areas, yummy!
Caribbean -- if you've got the money, go, just go
Paris -- again, if you've got the money or the frequent flier miles to  
make it feasible, go
New York -- upstate forests are so gorgeous
Toronto -- yes, it's chilly, but it's lovely, and people are just so  
nice
Vancouver or Victoria, BC -- again, chilly, but gorgeous and friendly

But to be honest, if you have the ability to get out of your house/ 
area when it's dead cold, like in January or February, that's the time  
to really get out and find someplace warm to go.
