Interesting. I wonder if they are any good. The only books that I have been
able to find written by her are Tsunamis, Thunderstorms, and Forces of
Nature. all geared for the young reader.

Ok this is for real. It's not a delayed April Fool's Day joke.
This is a real book slated for publication.
The title is:
There's a rat in my soup : could you survive medieval food?
Author: Chana Stiefel
Publisher: Berkeley Heights, NJ : Enslow Publishers, 2011.
Series: Ye yucky Middle Ages
Book : Juvenile audience : English
Food habits -- Europe -- History -- To 1500 -- Juvenile literature.
Cookery, Medieval -- Juvenile literature.
This is in fact part of a series of juvenile titles slated for
libraries and schools.
Other titles in the series Ye Yucky Middle Ages are:
Sweaty suits of armor : could you survive being a knight?
by Chana Stiefel
Book : Juvenile audience
Language: English
Publisher: Berkeley Heights, NJ : Enslow, ©2011.
Ye Castle Stinketh : could you survive living in a castle?
by Chana Stiefel
Book : Juvenile audience
Language: English
Publisher: Berkeley Heights, NJ : Enslow Publishers, ©2011.
They are not listed on Amazon yet nor are they on the publisher's
database. Cataloguing information has been submitted and they are
turning up at LoC which is where I came across the rat in the soup
title. (Isn't it fun what a search on cookery, medieval can turn up?)
Worldcat lists it and provides the ISBN: 9780766037854
0766037851
