I wouldn't know.  Some of them may have just gone ahead and appeared, some of them may have checked with media relations.

There has been more of a push lately within the SCA to manage media contacts so that the society is being presented in the best possible light.  We all know that anything can be twisted or edited to make things appear a certain way that the producers of the show think will draw the most viewers, regardless of what the presenter is told up front.   This is why, even though SCA folks have been approached several times, there haven't been any appearances on shows like "Wife Swap".   The SCA does not want to be represented as a bunch of nutcases who run around whacking each other with sticks.

Just because this person presents him/herself as a reasonable individual looking for a knowledgable, reasonable presenter does not mean that the show will be aired that way.  The fact that they state that they're looking for someone with strong opinions rings bells for me, but maybe I'm being overly cautious.
