The "alte Deutsche Scrift" referenced is probably Fraktur, the Gothic Black
Letter type-face that was used by a lot of German newspapers and printers
when I was learning my German from Herr Rehwald. Fraktur is very close to
the same type face used in the Gutenberg Bible and Anna Wecker's cookbook.

Maybe someone can explain this "alte Deutsche Scrift" comment, as well.
