[Sca-cooks] Where does the "remove" error come from?

Actually that appears in OED under remove, n.
5. a. The action of removing or taking something away; removal; (also)
eradication. Obs.
Then comes the part b. Cookery.
So it's removal.
I went looking for the noun remove in association with food dated
prior to 1710.
