He/She honestly may writing for their English or History class not realizing that his/her blog would be global. Without getting ito school politics this is also indicative of the limited resources and time students have access to.

And, how old does the writer think the world is? He says things like

Europe’s cognoscenti." Am I counting incorrectly? Is s/he going back to
B.C.? We're only 20 centuries from A.D.!
