The most obvious is that Pinot Grigio is a white wine and
Pinot Noir is a red.

That's a pretty big difference. Even *I* could tell I didn't get what  
I ordered in that case!

I had assumed these were two very similar wines. Yeah, I'd expect  
better out of a regular restaurant, much less a fancy place.
