Actually there are few Jalab recipes, since jalab is merely one 
specific kind of sharab (Arabic)/sherbet (Turkish), made exclusively 
of rose water, sugar, and water cooked to a syrup.

However, there are plenty of other Sharbat recipes in various 
sources. They are generally reduced fruit syrups which are served 
diluted with water. They are usually served warm in the Arabic 
literature, but may be served over snow or ice in the Ottoman 
literature.

Maybe another variety of Sharab will appeal to her.
