Oftentimes you can find saffron around $75 an ounce on eBay. I have had good results with this thus far. One other option is via Master Llew in the Middle. He has a source. The price on saffron has gone up terribly in the last three years. I sell it at $5 a gram. I have seen it as high as $14 a gram. Best bet might be your local Indian grocery. My local one had it at $85 a few weeks ago.
Respectfully,
Caitriona

Does anyone on the list have a good source for it, either at Pennsic or online? A little googling suggests that about $5/g or $100/oz is the best online price one can reasonably hope for. The pepperer's guild used to have it, as I recall, for less than that--but that was a long long time ago.
