Is anyone else fasting for Lent or for Spring? What do you hope to get out
of it? Will you go back after your fast is over?

Christianna
------------------------------
I used to give up chocolate for Lent when I was a practising Catholic, but I
suspect the subsequent overdose associated with Easter prevented the
restraint from sticking. Then I gave up Lent, and so it only seemed fair to
give up Easter (in other words I don't fast, but I don't feast either - both
were apparently considered equivalent sins by the mediaeval church, though I
suspect not too many people had trouble with the latter).

However my father gave up sugar in his tea for Lent once (it may seem a
small thing but he was not a Catholic) and has managed to stick with that
for thirty years. Good luck with your fast.
