We will be going to a friend's house and there appears to be a pretty wild collection of
dishes being brought. We will be bringing cornbread dressing, low-calorie pumpkin
custard, dark chocolate meringue pie and a dozen pork tamales from a local Mexican 
restaurant.
 
The day after our host's mother will be having "Latka-fest".
 
When we come back, surgery recovery willing, I'll make us a smaller Thanksgiving Day
dinner using turkey pieces roasted over vegetables. The vegetables then go into making
the gravy. Mashed potatoes. Boiled turnips. Homemade cranberry relish. etc...
