The Druze are an offshoot of the Ismailis.  They were considered heretics. 
While the core of their belief is Islam there is enough other stuff mixed in 
to make them distinct.  Israel, Lebanon and Syria recognize them as a 
seperate religious group.  I tend to see their relationship to Islam as 
being analgous to that of Catharism to Catholicism.
