I applaud you both. I have my own needs, and as I do during Lent (when I
have no animal products on my plate) I take care of them myself. When my
kids were little I figured it was my responsibility to deal with and
always kept some nuts and dried fruit in the feast basket, just in case.
I would never dream of throwing a hissy fit (which I have seen happen)
over such things. Whatever happened to being gracious and quietly making
