Except that the original says:

Sounds to me like powdering the sugar - powdered sugar is not modern. And i can make it by putting granulated sugar in a blender or food processor, since i lack the necessary minions to beat it - and the arthritis in my hands and bursitis in my elbows and shoulders make it painful for me to try using a mortar and pestle.
