The recipes are completely unreliable.  None of them list the original
sources, let alone the text of the original recipe.  Some use out of period
ingredients, and at least one the author admitted to inventing.  If you
find a used copy, the pictures are interesting, and some of the general
information about medieval food is useful, but DO NOT, for the love of
whatever you hold holy, give it to an impressionable newbie.

I would recommend "Pleyn Delit" or "Take a Thousand Eggs".
