[Sca-cooks] KW Cooks & Bards: In the Library

Greetings! The KW Cooks & Bards Symposium is on Labor Day weekend. Among 
the items I’ll be bringing for viewing in the library are 6 TV shows 
(“Hungry for the Past”) featuring Ivan Day, noted British food 
historian, chef, etc. Food ranges from late period to 1800s. SCA-period 
items are in a number of the shows. A list of the shows and contents 
will be available. Also available in the Symposium’s library will be 
short (2-8 minute) videos from Ivan’s pie and pastry-making course. Most 
of those videos center on techniques of preparing a highly decorated 
pie. A third item available in the library is a PowerPoint of sugar 
items (sugar paste, marzipan, etc.) which were on display in 2009. There 
are brief explanations for most of the photos. If you are attending the 
Symposium, be sure to check these out!
