I believe these are New World. What's the story?

I'm not sure I can use avocados for my game. Is there a something that is mostly avocado other than fresh avocados? Avocados are a bit expensive and probably aren't too useful after people have been handling/dropping? them all day. Some people exclaim, "but they didn't have cans in the Middle Ages, did they?" and I have to explain "No, but would you want to be handling raw meat or chicken after everyone else has been handling it today?" Similar problem with Avocados. But I do need a few more New World food possibilities.

<<< (I, too, use the New World/Old World demo format. I have some carob (great
story!) and bananas for 'Old World", which is guaranteed to throw someone.)>>>

Okay, what's the carob story?

I can get dried banana chips, but I'm not sure how many people would recognize what they were. Besides I already have lots of Old World stuff. Even fewer would recognize carob or know what it was if I told them. :-( I'm not really that clear on it.

carob-msg (4K) 6/13/01 Use of carob in period.
