Out of period.  Tart is generally considered a shortened version of 
sweetheart probably from some of the London slangs.  For example, sweetheart 
is treacle tart in Cockney rhyming slang.  Most of these have their origins 
in the 19th Century largely replacing the Elizabethan thieves cant.  And 
coffee in London is a 17th Century import.  Only pie meets the age criteria, 
showing up in English around 1000 CE.
