Sweet jumping Jebus, the morons on TV these days. Abu Simbel, apparently 
still the largest rock carving in the world [who knew, I thought perhaps 
the 4 stuffed shirts they honored with Mt Rushmore was]

And I paraphrase - it took ancient Egypt 20 years to carve Abu Simbel, 
we don't know how they accomplished it ..

Well, you know, when your God King tells you he wants a temple over 
there <points imperiously> you build a temple over there or you end up a 
head shorter and he finds someone who WILL put a temple where he wants one.

Not to mention you don't need to screw around getting an ecological 
impact result, a structural engineering report, an OSHA safety review or 
anything other than a list of available work crews. Sheesh, it really 
isn't the archeological equivalent of rocket science.
