[Sca-cooks] Table condiments

There were no condiments, per se, on the Ottoman table. There was no salt or pepper. Depending on what was being served, there might be some sort of pickles or rose petal jam.

I do have a circa 1430 recipe for yogurt-mustard sauce which ends with "and is eaten with fatty meat."

But it would only be served when that meat was served and then removed from the table when the meat dish was removed.
