Noble Cousins!

Greetings from Sólveig! Prunus mume is frequently mistranslated as “plum”. However, they are quite distinct from what are normally thought of as plums. An alternative translation is “Japanese apricot”. Regardless, pretty much all stone fruit belong to genus “prunus”. This is not as bad as the many cultivars of Brassica rapa which are commonly distinguished for culinary purposes.
