Squirrels will and often do turn bulbs over.  It will usually keep the
bulb from sprouting and the squirrel will come back for the bulb as food,
that is if he remembers where it was<squillers are not noted for haveing
good memories>. 

I have to put my bulbs in a squirrel cage<it is a cage box that keeps the
squirrels from tampering with the bulbs>, only the expensive bulbs are
worth the effort.
