Well I will answer Nuala as well as I can

The first major point that Nuala touched on severaltimes is that we do not
know exactly how large the back log of original scrolls is. I am beginning
work to get a feel for this. I doubt I will ever have an absolute answer.
Based upon responses to the thread that spawned this one there is an amount
of originals already under way.

Prize Scrolls:

Prize scrolls also serve a purpose in our college. Many people who would be
fearful of doing a Knighting scroll might not be so unwilling to do a scroll
for the winner of their groups list. So these can be a valuable level of
experience for up and coming artists. However Stock Prize scrolls have
worked for many groups in the past and I am sure they will again in the
future.

Quickly solving the back log:

While I would love to be able to say, "Every one who wants an original
scroll in Ansteorra has one and we have no backlog at all" I do not believe
haste in order on these projects. Individuals have spent many years meeting
the goal of peerage or the rank of County or many other of the ranks and
stations we need scrolls for. I would not slight the time and effort these
gentles put into their journey with a stock set of illuminations. In almost
all cases their journey has in some way benefited our Kingdom as a whole,
they are deserving of our best efforts.

Priorities in Commissions of Originals

I will not prioritize peoples work based on the "customers" precedence. If
you want to give a higher priority to some one who has been waiting longer
tht is your choice as the commissioned artist. As for me, I will facilitate
connection of "Demand" with "Supply" as it comes across my desk.
Communication is key in this. If you hear some one grousing that they still
don't have their scroll for the order of orders and the Steppes Warlord just
got something really impressive, tell them to contact me and I will help
them find some one to do it or go ahead and help them yourself if you feel
confident in doing so.

I got my first commissions for originals by walking up to peers I respected
and asking to do a scroll for them. The worst they can say is no. (the
answer could well be "YES! and while your at it I know several other people
who want theirs done... Hey Master Likestocarve! Come over here for a
minute)

Calligraphers and the shortage there of:

I don't currently have an answer for Serena or Nuala's points but I will be
looking into them as well as pulling out my pens and practicing a bit
myself.

I know I haven't touched on all of Nuala's points but I have to stop some
where or I will type up a stack of pages that accomplishes nothing (I have
done it before)

I remain in service
Darius
Star Signet
(I considered shortening that to "SS" and then thought better of it)
