I have to admit that when I started (ex-stick jock speaking here - was
told I had no artistic abilities) I could only use Speedball.  I had a
grip like an iron fist, and would snap a Brause like a twig.  Just ask
Mistress Serena. 

Through intensive therapy I did learn how to use a Mitchell and Brause.
But I *did* have to lighten up my grip.  A lot.  And it took quite a
while to learn to lighten up from  years of Speedballing.  Well, I say
years.  

And I used, and still use, the wells and not the tape.  I bend the heck
outta them.
