Scribes,
If you are active with a 'real-world' non-SCA (hate the word 'Mundane') Calligraphy guild in your
local community, you may have heard of or attended one of their scribes conferences. The
conference for 2005 will be held in Dallas, Texas, website at:
http://www.legacies2005.com/index.php

I went one year in California and the theme was bookbinding, really great and inspirational. This
site doesn't yet have all the details, but should soon; so keep checking it.

Many SCA'ers will look at the price of the conference and balk - too pricy. Generally these
conferences are held at college campuses to keep fees low, this one is at a hotel near the main
airport, but you get your hotel, food, programs and 30 hrs workshops (1 - 5day class or 2 - 2.5day
classes) with a professional scribe; so the price included the classes as well. For modern
conferences, it's really a bargain.

I'm checking to see if there is a fee for those not staying at the hotel, so if you are
interested, but want to save a dime, you may be able to get crash space with SCA'ers, though would
still need transport.

Check it out. Hillary Greenslade/Ansteorra
