THe Harry Ransom Center or the Humanities Resource Center (HRC) is a huge 
building near the edge of UT.  It houses, among other things, Earle Stanley 
Gardner entire study where he wrote the Perry Mason novels (no joke, the 
whole room including walls, roof and floor), various manuscripts (two 
copies of the Gutenberg) and lots of very old books.  It is a closed stack 
so you have to get carefully screened before you can go in.  But they are 
very nice people.   Below is a look at the preservation work they do at the 
Center .
