Stargate Scribes Class Carolingian Calligraphy; a beginning script
Learn the basics of calligraphy, pens, inks, papers, and how to get started lettering.
Some bench-tricks and basic line layout will be covered also.
Beginners and above are welcome!
Date: Sunday, May 22nd (after Loch Baronial)
Time: 3-6pm
Location: Oaks Presbyterian Church,
(in student classroom at parking lot end of wing)

Supplies to bring:
Bring what you have, some supplies available for purchase or borrow.
(available at Texas Art Supply, Michaels or Hobby Lobby)

Pens dip pen nibs & holder: Speedball holder, Nibs- C2, C3, or C4,
(other brands ok: Mitchell, Hunt, Tape)
(cartridge pens ok, if you already have, and dont want to use dip pens)
Ink Pelican 4001, Higgins Eternal or Calligraphy, Calli, Speedball
Paper large pad of paper, 11x14 or larger,
recommend: Arches, Canson, Strathmore, Diplomate
(make sure its ok for pen & ink). Extra paper will be available at class.
Ruler metal, cork backed, 24 or longer ruler, T-square ruler highly suggested.
White Eraser magic rub brand
Pencil technical pencil or hard lead (type -HB)
Aimes Lettering Guide (optional) near rulers, small plastic rule with circle dial
Lap/drawing board (optional) Staedtler wooden drawing board recommended,

Classes most likely WILL NOT REPEAT within the year, so plan your schedule accordingly.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP, so I have enough table space available.
All are welcome, you do not have to be in Stargate to participate.
