[Scriptoris] Preparing Vellum

Greetings, 
At AHSS in Emerald Keep, I distributed samples of vellum to the scribes in attendance.  This
project is part of an effort to provide scribes with some 'toy's to play with and experiment with
in an effort to understand and use historical processes. I have 1/2 a bag of vellum left over and
will carry it with me in travels this fall if you want to try some. 

I didn't occur to me when I purchased the samples, to order some Pounce or Sandarac to use in
preparing the surface of the vellum for accepting paint and ink.  And there was no time to discuss
preparing the surface of vellum at the meeting at AHSS.  

So, I invite those who have the knowledge of vellum preparation to share it on this list.  
Then those with samples can correctly 'play' with them.
