Good Morning!

Last night was Rosenfeld's June Illumination Workshop. The topic was "The Historical Process of Making an Illuminated Book". Because Rosenfeld is lucky enough to have at the Tyler Museum of Art the St. John's Bible Exhibit, we are able to get exposure not only in the Tyler Library's monthly Newsletter (both online and printed) and an "Announcement" in the Tyler newspaper, but also "word of mouth" advertisement from the President of Education, the Exhibit Director, and Exhibit Guides at the Tyler Museum of Art.

Although the group was smaller than hoped for, 12 people in all, everyone had fun and went away from the class with something learned and an opportunity to Illuminate a sample piece. The best news is, one family in particular is now very interested in perhaps joining SCA and being part of the Scribal Guild! That is two families this month that we have reached due to the Library Demos. Yeah!

Next month's topic is "The Making and Application of Inks, Paints and Metals Typically Used on Illuminated Manuscripts". The Workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 25th, 6:00-8:00pm at the Tyler Public Library Auditorium. Everyone is welcome.

  In Service,
